My Priorities:

●  Jobs:  Promote economic development and job creation through tax credits for employee wages and affordable housing development.  Support tax credits to stimulate job creation in renewable energy and clean power activities such as solar, wind, and geothermal.

●  Education:  Support full funding for our schools and teachers to give our children the best opportunities for success.  Maintain smaller classroom sizes and work to bring back local control to School Boards, Parents and Teachers.  Oppose Governor Schwarzenegger’s $4.4 billion proposed cuts to education.

●  Health Care:  Support comprehensive health care reform for all Californians.  Promote quality, affordable health care for our families and children.  Protect funding for in-home health care services for seniors and the disabled. 

●  Environment:  Support legislation for restoration of the Salton Sea.  Promote state and federal efforts to cover the New River as it flows through residential neighborhoods in Calexico.  Promote clean air initiatives for the region and work to protect our natural resources.

●  Budget:  Work to find a long-term solution to the state budget crisis.  Work to provide economic incentives to increase state revenues and reduce bureaucracy within the state budget.  Maintain funding for education and law enforcement.

●  Water Rights:  Fight to preserve water rights for the Imperial Valley!  Support long-term water solutions for the Imperial, Coachella, and Palo Verde Valleys.
